The specialized classes teach the same core skills as general RWA classes, including how to do conduct legal research and analysis, and write legal memos. The only difference is that the specialized class assignments focus on their designated areas of law.

 • Intellectual Property Perspective: This RWA specialization is designed for students with an interest in patent, trademark, and/or copyright law, and may especially appeal to those with hard science (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics) or technical backgrounds (e.g., engineering, computer science) as well as those with backgrounds in liberal arts, communication, film, theater, and telecommunication. Assignments focus on patent, trademark, and copyright law.
  • Social Justice Perspective: This RWA specialization is designed for students interested in the work of public interest organizations. Assignments focus on legal problems involving social justice issues such as human rights, access to education and health care, child welfare, human trafficking, immigration, or issues surrounding the Native American community.
